History & Legend - Deccan Odyssey
Deccan Odyssey was launched by in association with Indian Railways Ministry. Ever since its inauguration this train has been successful and can be aligned with the best royal trains of the world like the Blue Train of South Africa, The Orient Express of Europe and the Eastern and Oriental of South East Asia.
The MOU between Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and the Indian Railway Ministry was signed in Feb 2001 and by the end of year 2003, Deccan Odyssey in its blue Limousine design was ready to be launched. 16th January 2004, the day when the Green flag unfurled for the maiden journey of the Deccan Odyssey, became a glorious day in the history of the Indian Railways and a boon to Indian Tourism as well.
The Deccan Odyssey is much more than a mere luxury ride. It's a 'classical odyssey' that takes you beyond the chasm of time. Bon Voyage!
